REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN, June 18, 2015 – The 2nd Annual Regina AfroFest kicks off Friday, July 3 with free performances and a lunch hour drum workshop (Boomtown Drums) at City Square Plaza! Then, Saturday, July 4, it’s festival day! This event celebrates Africa’s diverse cultures. There’ll be live music performances drum and dance by the best international and local African artists! This event also features amazing food! Art! Crafts! Jewelry! Fashions!
This year’s headliners are Adam Solomon, an accomplished Juno award winning artist originally from Kenya, performing with the Tikisa Band; and Casimiro Nhussi (Mozambique) and NAfro Band. Local performers include Afro Ngomaz Dancers (Kenya), Tombi Dance Group (Zambia), Tribal vibes and more…

Regina AfroFest was formed from a vision to create an avenue to bring people together to experience African music, culture, and traditions; and especially to increase awareness and interest in African culture. This event also provides stimulating cultural exchange, creativity, increase in public knowledge and appreciation about the diversity of Africa.
With an increasing number of Africans moving to Saskatchewan, this festival aims to foster and promote African culture and traditions in the province. It also serves to educate about the diversity of Africa.
